motorcycle touring holiday Germany Europe classic Ducati Bimota Superbike experience
Here are the 2 new chips that I bought recently, one for standard set up and one for the Kit pipes and open airbox.
To change the chip in the ECU is quite a big job: the tank and seat unit need to be removed, then the ECU has to be taken out because the chip is accessed only after the underside cover has been taken off. Which meant I fitted the chip for the Kit pipes as I really want to hear how they sound !
So on go the Kit pipes too.
And a pair of new Kit hand guards, known as pods. They replace the standard Strada front mirror/indicator assemblies for racing use, which means I have to find some other mirrors and front indicators ! but in the meantime, they just look great.
Then finally to get the bike back outside and refit the bodywork.
and finally start it up, the sound is really incredible, it makes me love this bike even more.
For some reason the bike looks much leaner and stretched out now with the pipes and pods fitted. I hope I will be able to get the pipes accepted by the Tüv ? surely I have to fit some decible killers in the ends to decrease the noise a bit (lot).
