motorcycle touring holiday Germany Europe classic Ducati Bimota Superbike experience
NSU racing bike display from the German 2 wheel museum in Ulm.
unfortunately this Husqvarna didn't join the circuit today, I would love to hear the sound of those megaphones.
Time to have a look at the track action and see this Bakker framed Honda RS500 taking part in the Hockenheim Motorsport museum's special run.
A 1978 Yamaha TZ750E.
When the session ends, I also have the luck to see the machines coming back into the pit area. Always happy to get a close up look at the technical beauty of a Bimota YB3.
Beautifully made top yoke and clip ons, typical to all Bimotas.
Back in the pits, there are quite a few dealers selling books, parts and bikes as well as some club stands such as the 'ever active' Honda RC30 owners club.
One member of which also selling some used spares.
Plus a Bimota HB3 for sale, however with later CBR forks, wheels and brakes which don't have the period authenticity that would better suit the bike. And that I would also expect for a price over 12,000 euros.
A good selection of racing parts,
including a Fath 500 crankcase ready to be finished and fitted into you sidecar combination.
Even less expected: moulds for the sand cores of an Adler 250 twin engine.
2 Yamaha TZ250s for sale.
And a sweet Ducati single for 3,900 euros looks good value.
Very interesting for those of us with aging racing or Italian sports bikes is this supplier of race parts including a selection of reproduction floating brake discs.
Vincent Black Lightning sandwiched between a Vincent Comet and a CZ 852.
beautiful 1954 Horex 350,
and Horex Hoske 500 from 1952.
Great collection of Tsetses, including one with a home made frame at the front.
1966 Bultaco Metralla 250cc.
1968 Ducati 500 Corsa.
Although the engine is Yamaha TZ250 and the frame has some 'Bimota influence', it is not a YB model. In fact the frame looks very similar to the Bimota HDB1 but probably only influenced because Bimota only built one unit of the Harley Davidson 2 stroke powered HBD1s. Whatever, it's a great looking and functioning race bike.
Still a little time to get the 1978 TZ750F perfect for the afternoons practice session.
Gorgeous Suzuki RG500 previously riden by Franco Uncini.
Another Bimota YB3, which I saw last time at Spa Francorchamps in June.
A great looking 650cc Ducati TT F2.
