Great to see something interesting already in the car park, this time 2 Alfa Romeo Montreals.
Fritz Schlumpfs personal Bugatti 35B with which he raced after the 2nd world war.
Two of the half sized Type 52 electrically powered childrens cars. Supposedly for the children of Bugattis rich customers, around 500 of these 'Baby' beauties were built between 1927 and 1936.
A 1970 Ferrari 312B formula 1 car raced by Mario Andretti.
The vast halls of the 'decomissioned' textile factory where the Schlumpf brothers had stored their collection, are partly left as they were found back in 1977 when striking workers revolted after the Schlumpf brothers had started to break up the company.
The workers found over 600 cars in the collection which was finally rescued by the French government in a buy out in 1981.
A fascinating 1936 Voisin C28, almost completely made of aluminium in Art d'eco style.
Beautiful little Bugatti Type 55 Coupe with its 2.3 litre straight 8 cylinder engine.
A Type 46 with the rare 'streamlined' windscreen treatment designed by Ettore Bugattis son, Jean.
One of three Bugatti Type 41 Royales in the collection; the Coupe Napoleon, a replica of the Esders Roadster and this with English Park Ward bodywork.
Only 6 Royales were originally built all with different bodywork on the 4.3m wheelbase chassis powered by a 12.8 litre straight 8 engine.
Exquisite interior upholstery.
A 1938 Mercedes 540K Cabriolet with supercharger.
This 1930 racing Maserati was still being used on the roads of Switzerland in the 1960s !
This Alfa Romeo 8C won the 1936 Mille Miglia race with a lead of only 32 seconds after the lights failed.
A Type 57 cabriolet.
Only 6 of these Type 101s were built around 1951 as an attempt to revive the company post WW2.
No museum would be complete without a 300SL Gullwing Mercedes, this one in remarkable 'original' condition.
An Alfa Romeo C52 heading a small Ferrari collection.
The impressive 5 litre 450MM coupe painted in the national racing colours of Annam (now a part of Vietnam) where it belonged to the Emperor Bao Dai.
One of the first mid engined Ferraris was this 250LM, brought from Sweden with still only 2000km on the clock.
Surprising variety of the collection.
Only natural to have a modern Bugatti Veyron on display also.
Almost every type of Bugatti GP car made . .
And a few others too.
Glorious 1937 Mercedes Benz W125 producing nearly 650 horse power and 1939 W154 Grand Prix cars driven by Rudolf Caracciola and Helmut Lang.
This fascinating supercharged Grand Prix engine seems to be a reworked Ferrari Columbo unit, it's even possible to see where the Ferrari script has been removed from the rocker covers.
Maseratis and Gordinis amongst others.
The Bugatti 251 with transverse mid mounted engine at the front right.
The 1955 OSCA TN Simpson Special Bonneville record breaking car achieved over 261kmh over a 10km distance driven by James Simpson from the U.S.A.
The straight 8 Type 251 engine and transmission.
Another Type 52 Baby Bugatti tucked away between larger exhibits.
The replica Esders Royale which wasn't fitted with headlights because Mr Esders never drove at night.
Some of the wooden buck used in the reconstruction of the car.
The museum seems to have so many Type 57s, a couple have been left in various stages of construction so that all details of the engineering can be seen.
Indeed 3 more Type 57s in the exit hall, all with the exotic Atalante coachwork.
