The rare 1968 250 Fisoko of Eckard Finke.
A complete MZ team thanks to Team Pommer.
MZ RE125s, RE250s as well as TT125 all in fantastic condition just as they would have been back in the late 1960s and 1970s.
The truely beautiful and very exotic 1953 500cc Horex Schnell of Rolf Dachs.
A Honda RC181 replica from Walter Schwerz.
parked next to another Honda race conversion,
which looks like an Egli frame?
The very fresh 1977 Suzuki GT250 of Luca Schumacher, it shows you don't need a special classic bike to take part in these events. Value for money, this is probably the winner overall. The class is called 'clubsport' 2 stroke bikes up to 250cc and 4 stroke up to 350cc built up to 1978.
In the exhibition space in the pits area there was a fabulous collection of treasures to be discovered.
including this 1955 Adler RS250.
DKW racers.
A 1930 Puch 250 Ladepumpe (supercharger) from the Hockenheim museum.
The exotic and fascinating 1939 DKW US250 of Robert Meyerhöfer uses 4 pistons running in 2 cylinders, force fed by a supercharger. This technology increased the power output of this works machine by 10 horsepower compared to it's predecessors with with only 2 pistons. This actual machine achieved it's final victories in 1949 riden by ex works rider Walfried Winkler. Previously the machine had only been used for training purposes by the factory before the war interupted.
Not so sure about this one, I should have asked somebody; it says MZ on the tank but I suspect that it's the 1954 DKW RM350.
Anyway it has a fascinating V3 2 stroke engine with one cyclinder pointing straight out towards the front.
A 1954 BMW RS54.
The 1975 Röth Ducati 900SS of Egid Schwemmer and the 1973 BMW F750 of Helmut Dähne.
The 1973 Suzuki TR750 of Karl Hübben.
A BSA Trident with Rob North frame owned by Norbert Prokschi.
Another machine owned by Norbert Prokschi is this fascinating 1973 Norton John Player, with the makings of a monocoque frame which carries the fuel in its' spars.
Signed on the fairing by Peter Williams, the designer for the Norton team for many years and the brain behind many innovations including the cast aluminium motorcycle wheel.
Many very unusual racing machines in this corner of the exhibition.
A Yamaha 4 cylinder 2 stroke racer, but is it a TZ700 or the even wilder TZ750?
The 1976 Bimota SB1 belonging to Friedel Geritzen that we saw at Spa 2 months ago at the bikers classic event.
Of all the technical innovations of racing motorcycles in the last 30 years, the carbon fibre frame seems to be one of the most difficult to master, here the Armstrong CF250 of 1983 with it's Rotax engine, riden by Niall Mackenzie.
The Saxon TZ350 with it's telelever front suspension, which was later used by BMW on its' road bikes.
Ralf Kamanns' 1929 DKW 500SS.
NSU Grand Prix replica for sale.
A 1948 Triumph T100 owned by Gerhard Fischer.
Matchless, NSU, Yamaha and Derbi keeping company.
The Matchless G50 of Rolf Möhle and a 1959 AJS 7R.
A Norton Domiracer replica with 'low boy' frame for sale.
Dieter Heinzes' 1970 Seeley Norton.
Maybe inspired by riding the DB2, Andreas found this rare Bimota SB6 with monoarm conversion.
Apparantly only 3 of these conversions were made. It certainly does suit the style of the SB6 very well.
As a complete contrast, what else can you find at Schotten? parts stalls of course.
