motorcycle touring holiday Germany Europe classic Ducati Bimota Superbike experience
Preparing for the Sunday run over to the Spessart natural park, which is a wonderland of fantastic roads in glorious countryside, and it just seems to go on for ever . .
Drop by to pick up a couple more friends on the way.
Shouldn't forget to post a picture of Andrews gorgeous blue and silver 25th anniversary Bimota YB11, in my barn of course, where it is welcome to stay . . .
Arrival at the Engländer pub in Spessart, which is always a great place to stop for lunch.
Eventually, homemade Sunday dinner back home.
Photos in the yard on Monday morning after returning from Bad Camberg to see off some of our guests.
Classic view of a classic bike.
The Ducati 851 had developed a leaky inlet rubber at the weekend. Luckily we have enough bikes for everybody, but today we had a little time to fix it.
Which was swiftly done, especially with the help of Yannick Grange, who runs the 'Moto Minute' shop in Z.A. la Motte 07210 Baix, France and really knows his way around Ducatis. So, while we were at it we decided to change the cam belts and check the valve clearances, just to make sure that everything is perfect.
CLICK HERE to see Yannicks website with some of the restoration work that he does.
Spot check on the front and rear exhaust valve opening clearances were all perfect, so I have no reservations about waiting for the scheduled service to check and eventually adjust the others.
With the 851 back together, it was time to get out for a ride for a couple of hours, together with Jürgen and Peter who had come to visit us on their Triumph Sprint and Ducati Monster S4.
Feldberg again as the perfect stop before the ride home and the 851 is running beautifully : )
Sunday dinner together with Patrick and Martine from France, who were visiting the Hessenpark old building museum and other beauty spots.
