French National Motor Museum in Mulhouse
The French cite de l'automobile National Motor Museum is one of our favourite destinations on THE CRANKCASE. tours.
The museum was often called the Schlumpf or just 'Bugatti' museum after the two brothers that assembled the collection and the large number of Bugattis included.
The museum buildings have recently been completely revised with this impressive entrance facade made up of full sized sportscar models interspersed with flying storks.
To do it justice, one could spend a week or longer examining the exhibits, but half a day is usually enough before one is overwhelmed by the quantity and variety, with about 400 exhibits including the worlds largest collection of Bugattis.
